No account, password, or subscription is required. You sign in once with your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple) so trip-mates can see who added what. Your identity stays private — see the privacy policy.
iCloud keeps your trips synced across your devices and powers trip sharing. If you're not signed in to iCloud, TallyTrip still works fully on your device — the status is shown in Settings → iCloud inside the app. Sign in to iCloud in the iPhone's Settings app to enable sync and sharing.
Open the trip, tap Share, and send the invitation via Messages or email. Invitees need an iPhone or iPad with iCloud. Everyone in the group sees expenses and balances update live. The trip owner can stop sharing at any time.
Share invitations are tied to the iCloud account they were sent to. Ask your trip-mate to make sure they're signed in to iCloud on their device, then tap the invitation link again. If it still fails, remove them from the trip and re-invite.
Any trip can be exported as a .triptally file (trip → ••• → Export) — a complete copy including receipt photos. Opening a .triptally file on another device imports it as a new trip. Trips also sync automatically through your iCloud, which serves as the everyday backup — but note that receipt photos stay only on the device where they were added, so a .triptally export is the one way to carry them to another device.
Make sure the device is signed in to the same iCloud account and that iCloud Drive is on, then give the app a minute on Wi-Fi to pull your trips down. Trips shared with you reappear once the owner's share is reachable. Receipt photos are the exception: they don't sync, so they come back only by importing a .triptally export made on the original device.
Email us — real bugs get fixed. TallyTrip has no analytics, so a report from you is the only way we learn something broke.
